661-pete
Brocchi's Cluster. This was really a 'spur of the moment' imaging decision, seeing as I was waiting for my planned target for that night (NGC246) to come out from behind the house! Maybe not always seen as a serious target, and not really challenging (unless one wants to really bring out the faint nebulosity behind the asterism - as in Greg and Noel's incomparable version!)The main challenge is that it wouldn't all fit on the DSLR at F/4.5; I went for three panes with the camera in portrait orientation, each pane was just 6 x 1min at 1600 ISO. Getting them to match up was also a challenge! I made sure I didn't lose the small open cluster NGC 6802 over to the right.
