Skywatcher Skytee Question

Could this giro be used with a 8" f6 newt?... would it have enough clearence on the tripod at zenith?.

I bought a SkyTee about 15 months ago - great goto alt/az mount. I use mine to carry a 4" APO refractor and a WO 66mm Frac. I doubt if the mount could accommodate a 8" Newt. However, I also bought a pillar extension from the Widescreen Centre - see attached link Pillar Extension for EQ5/HEQ5 mount — The Widescreen Centre - I would guess with a pillar extension and with the scope well balanced you might get away with it. You are welcome to give it a try if you live close to Hereford. Send me a PM if you want to have a go.
