M82 @ F/10

Here's my attempt at M82 last night. Throught I'd give it a go as it's getting a little low in the sky and is already in some skyglow in the north, however the CLS filter does a fantastic job.

This is 26x 3 and 4 min subs, ISO800

C8 F/10, 300d, with my best attempt at processing in PS, which is tricky as it's easy to blow out the core.

I remember first looking at this last year through my 10" dobs and just seeing it with averted vision as a faint smudge. It's so nice to be able to capture it in glorious technicolour!

That is a very pretty image - very nice contrast and looks great to my eye - well done

That's a tough image to get with an F10 scope & it is really a mid summer target.

Still you pulled that off really well... I'm not going to show you my attempt with a 300mm lens

The detail/ colour looks great.. nice round stars also...

The F10 isn't the tricky bit because it's a bright target but 2000mm focal length is very tough. That's a great result Rik.
