M27 now with darks/flat & reprocessed

hehe, I'm on a roll now! I took some flats and darks last night to be added to my M27 images from the night before.

I also reprocessed the results in PS and I found a better 'curves' techniqe of adjusting them in each RGB channel rather than combined. This enabled me to reduce the red in the background, but bring out some more red in M27.

ps. after never bothering with flats before, they turned out to be quite easy to take. Just pointed the scope at the clear blue sky with a white t-shirt draped over the end of the scope. Set the DLSR to its recommended exposure length and set the timer going. Easy!

I'm really very pleased with these images, as many people say; when you start autoguiding, you'll wonder why you never did it before!
