Hello:

Was out taking a few lunar shots last night, and thought I would forward one. Not sure what that bright pulsating orb was to the right of the moon. I slewed the scope that way but only saw a larger pulsating

orb. What planet is that?icon5.gif

Thank you

Thanks Nick:

It was so overpoweringly bright. Are there any any recipes for toning down the brightness so that a person could see some detail?

Cheers!

One answer is to take at least two different shots, one exposed for the Moon and the other (much shorter) for Jupiter. You'll have to experiment wiht different exposures to work out which works best. Then superimpose the image of the correctly exposed Moon over the underexposed Moon on the Jupiter image.

Simples!

To show you what can be achieved, I have attached a composite image I took Mars and its two Moons a while ago.
