New obsy build about to start

The 2.7m dome has arrived and is in bits in the garage. The contents of the old astro shed has been cleared (very sad). The contents of the old garden shed have been tranferred to the old astroshed.

The obsy is going to be built on top of the brick extension at the back of the garage. The existing roof is to be taken off and the the floor for the observatory will be about 4 bricks lower than the existing height of the building. The increase in height to include walls for the obsy will be less than 1m.

Building starts Monday so more pics to come

Change of plan, now going for a 20" sqaure concrete pillar up to the floor of the observatory. Have discovered that the existing floor is 19" of reinforced concrete in 2 layers! There's going to be a 1x1x1 metre reinforced concrete footing added to the centre of the floor to support the pillar.
