Apollo 11 Site - Rukl Map 35

I had wanted to image this area for a long time. I'm not completely satisfied with it...But, it's not too bad,

This was taken on Saturday, 30 May 09 with a CPC-1100 scope and DMK-31-mono usb camera. Stack of approx. 1500 frames in R5...and touched up with lots of other stuff......maybe too much...Lol...

That's a nice capture. I've never tried to observe this area of the Moon before, you have inspired me to have a look at it more closely in future.

Hi. Could anyone please confirm the location of the Apollo 11 site. ( Sea of tranqility - i know that much lol ) Wud be good to take a serious look at the area. What are the names of the craters at top of shot ?? Thx John

Thanks, one the upper left is Ritter and just below is Sabine. Give this area a go. I hope to do better with it soon.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question , wouldnt a huge telescope show any signs of the landing site ,

Certainly not terrestrial for sure. Hubble can't do it, so far the only thing to have come close would the recent lunar orbiter (Japanese I think)

Which has shown the blast field created by the landing IIRC...
