New laptop and vista

I've got a Dell with Vista and I use EQMOD, a QHY5, guidemaster, pixinsight LE, Canon 1000D software, gimp and registax. They all work fine with Vista on my laptop.

windows 7 even in beta is better than Vista on so many levels...

but hey ho..

I'm finding 32 bit apps run really slow on Windows 7 RC (64 bit) ... fraction of the speed they run even under Vista...

I have XP Pro (32bit) Vista Ultimate (32 bit) and Windows 7 RC (64 bit) installed on this machine...

I found once i gave Vista a Quad core 4 GB of fast ram and a couple of fast hard disks to play with its OK...

As is just about every other piece of software on the market - its just at the public testing phase

Win7 may be beta, but it's vastly superior and more optimised than Vista.

Nothing will ever convince me that Vista was a good idea...Windows ME on steroids :-)
