NGC 7000 Widefield

This is just 40x2 mins centred on 62 Cygni with the SY135/RCIMX571c/NBZ. The data was only calibrated with a BPM in APP, as I got some pedestal warnings when using the associated flat and darkflat frames in APP. The first is the bicolour image from the NBZ filter, the second is a pseudo HST palette, created from the data.

Thanks for looking.

So here is the same image but with 87 x 2 mins of RASA8/QHY268c/NBZ data from the other side of the mount added into just the central region around 62 Cygni. I think it has improved the bicolour image but I'm not impressed with the HST version. It might be colourful, but there are horrible halos around the blue stars and the phrase "an artist's impression" springs to mind...

Incidentally, it took me ages of trying different combinations of settings to get APP to register the SY135 data alongside the RASA8 image, this is not usually the case so I'm not sure what is different.

Oh, and can someone please help me with finding the bird in the Pelican Nebula? Is that rhomboid cloud of Ha meant to be the beak that can hold more than it's belican?😄

Never seen the bird myself. Or the wizard to be fair.

Like the top image, not so much the second. However, the second I think has a lot of potential because of the depth/3d effect of the lilac area which is impressive.

Yes, I see what you mean about the depth in the second image. The trouble with these manufactured colour channels is there are so many different ways of presenting them. The one I posted was the third attempt, but I’m sure there is room for improvement.

Your data looks amazing. Plenty of time to experiment and tweak.

I have no idea how I'd even approach processing this there's almost too many interesting and distinct parts.
