Psychobilly
Nice detail all the way to the core great focus and tracking...and subtle colours...Only need to tackle the gradient i'd say....
Aza
Looks like a great job to me.For improvements I think you need to take some flats. And then really just go for more subs.Do you take darks too?
zetajanus
Yes 5 darks and 5 offsetBut no flat...I know How to do a flat easily ? I tried but the result was very bad...
Aza
I made a lightbox like this:Light BoxVery simple and works very well.Or if you use Photoshop you can try Gradient Exterminator. It costs money but has a free trial:GradientXTerminatorI use Gradient Exterminator even after using flats, its a great tool. But really your first stop is to get your flats sorted! MartinB
OK, am I missing something, where's the simple bit! I'm looking on my work monitor which clips the dim bit so I can't see gradients and the like. But the lovely starry detail I can see looks great Really tight stars all the way through. Looks beautiful

Tim
Very nice image there Zeta.If you take 'proper' flats you will get even better results. I take mine with a white T-shirt stretched over the front of the telescope, against a twilight or dawn sky. It needs to be bright enough so that you can get short subs <1second, and try to get around 25 of them. I get good results with the histogram at about 1/3. You can use one of the presets on your camera if needs be.2 mins unguided takes a bit of doing too! Nice going.TJ
