Just a quick heads up, theres a very large prom on the edge of the sun right now.

Indeed, and a few others in addition that look very pretty. The view in my Quark is much better than this image from GONG:

 

BTW today is  the 19-th, not 18-th 🙂

Indeed it's huge...the array of other ones in a line are great too - a bit like they've lined up to illustrate different forms of proms! (Although they've evolved over the day quite a lot.)

Just watching it on the SDO video and then in the last frame or so there's a huge surge prom erupting.

btw i stuck some photos on the solar imaging tab. Its been a while (like a year) since i did some proper astronomy due work and family, buy enjoying getting back into it.
