  • John changed the title to Telescope House: 30 minutes of nostalgia

That was a favourite haunt of mine from the 70s until they closed

Mine as well.

Every time I had business in London, somehow my journey home was via Farringdon Road 🙄

I certainly managed to find my way to Farringdon Road a fair few times once I moved to London back in 2001. Bought my first very high quality scope from them too  (the TMB LZOS 115 f/7) in 2004.  That certainly changed my perception of what a good telescope image looked like.

More than once I would just go into chat telescopes and equipment. Did the same at the widescreen centre until it moved out of London. Now we have no scope shops in the capital. 😢

I worked in Farringdon Lane and then Hatton Garden for around five years during the 1990s. Working in journalism back then, it was perfectly normal for half the office to head for the pub at lunchtime for a few refreshments, but I was more attracted by Telescope House, and bought my first scope there. Thanks for posting John.
