Star names

A new member @Flakmunky mentioned that he had named his daughter after a star and it reminded me of something. Back in 2006 one of my boys and his family named a star after me using and old cb name I used mid 70's "rustbucket".

I wondered if anyone else has a star association?

Ps. I do understand that this is a novelty 😉

I've got 1691077 - Lepus

My daughter got it for my birthday a few years ago :)

RA 6h 6m 4.83s - DEC -17 7 25.64  Mag 10.227

Tried getting a shot of the area but it's quite low behind houses where I live.

of course all these names are utterly meangless and are just run by charlatans to get money from gullible people.

Very true , money for old rope.

The IAU have  id'd all the known  stars and each has a HD number assigned.

With so many charlatans taking peoples money any one star could have more then one so called owner ( of course they never own the star and it is all just a bit of nonsense).
