Galaxies near notable field stars or multiple stars?

Hey,

I find myself really enjoying observing galaxies near notable field stars (within <1º of each other) . It gives a nice depth to the observation. Worth mentioning of this kind is NGC 404 very near Mirach/BET AND and NGC 4448 near GAM COM.

I would be happy to get more suggestions of these, if any, suitable for 8-10".

Any ideas?

A quick scan of SkySafari suggests M108, M109, NGC3184 in Ursa Marjor, NGC 3227 in Leo and NGC4490 in CVn. Perhaps none as interesting or close as Mirach’s Ghost, but worth a go?

About 1 degree from Messier 13 (the globular cluster) lies the galaxy NGC 6207. That gives an interesting sense of scale when you get both in the same field of view🙂
