Great to see a new Pegasus product, as a company they are excellent in quality and attentive regarding queries. I'm waiting for them to release an iOptron EAF conversion kit for the Samyang lens.

Cheers,

Steve

Why would they release that, for a product that is not there’s…🤔🤔

The more I look at it, the more I like it, conceptually that is. This should be standard for all AP set ups.

Price wise, good dual V and D saddle goes for 180 to 210. Pegasus powerbox advance is 259. So, 399 for Powerbox saddle and 45 for adapter puck comes quite similar and in that respect could be digestible. Happy to pay for convenience of avoiding potentially expensive cable snags.

However, ASIAIR Plus 32G is 330 and 256G is 419 and this is where it fails.

You will have a saddle on your mount anyway and with ZWO ASIAIR Plus you will have immensely more functionality but little less power (10A vs 6A).

This might be viable for all non ZWO set ups with N.I.N.A. and RPI Indi server / KSTARS or strllarmate scenarios if you have abundance of nerves to deal with instabilities.

I am just a bit confused too by your post, why would Pegasus release a conversion kit for an ioptron product to work on a samyang lens, surely they would want people using there own focusers…🤔

Don"t fret. A while ago I contacted Pegasus Astro about them making a ring mounting systems for the Samyang to use together with their own  EAF. It is something they hope to get around to in tbe future but have other priorities currently. If they can make mounting platforms to take diffferent makes of EAF they can have a share of the EAF/Samyang market, at the moment third parties make EAF platforms but just for ZWO EAF.

Cheers,

Steve

Oh don’t worry i’m not fretting, just curious

I know Pegasus well, and I can assure you anything they make will be to work with there own kit only,  and not to work with other manufactures kit, regardless of what they have told you…👍🏻
