Inversion of R/B (RGB > BGR) for pseudo false colours. M51 - What do you think?

Recommended Posts

Pretty straight forward question, decomposing the stack to R, G, B and recomposing as B, G, R gives this. I liked it but was met with some serious rebuttal like I am a monster offending the gods of good taste or something. So, what do you think? Honestly, plainly and brutally!

(yes, I know, it needs way more exposure time, the background is 🤢🤮🥴) trueVsFalseColours_M51.thumb.jpeg.6c8ffc53cf1c3729e43a500b3fd78cb9.jpeg

I have to say I prefer the conventional palette image. I know NB nebulae images are fair game for changing the colour assignments, but I have seen too many “true” colour LRGB galaxy images to go with an off the wall palette.
