Does anyone have any experience with opticstar xl 82° Eyepieces. I understand they're exactly the same as ES82° and even made in the same factory they're just marketed under a different name

I got a pair of the 8.8mm ones for my giant bins and them had to return them, the kidney beaning was horrendous.  TBF I have not really got anything else to compare too so maybe other versions would have given the same result.

I wasn't impressed with the response I got when I asked to return due to kidney beaning, not very professional in that instance although again in the past when I used them they have been fine. (off day I guess)

I've also seen them branded as maxvision on aliexpress. I'll stick with the ES as I've already started with the 14mm 82° although the price is tempting

No one really knows for sure if these are or are not blems that didn't pass the ES/Bresser quality control check.  I've read of people being satisfied with these rebrands, and of others having issues with theirs.

I’m pretty sure they’re the same eyepieces. They’re not priced sufficiently cheaply to suggest they are any different. I know people who have them and are happy with them.

There was some speculation previously that the Opticstar versions might be cheaper because they lacked the waterproofing/purging of the ES EPs, but their web site says they do have it.
