2 hours on the Sun

Earlier this morning it was clear and sunny and I set up my Skywatcher 80 ED with a white solar filter and there were a number of  sun spots visible.

I then set up my pre owned Coronado pst this I have had for a while but this is the first time the sun was in a favourable position  for weeks from my location due to the local trees.

I must admit I don't know for sure  what I should expect to see but  eventually  I obtained a nice crisp red image showing dark spots lots of lighter areas surrounding them .

the best images were by way of a Baader zoom eyepiece and a Celestron 25 mm eyepiece, lots of practice required.

My grandson is  spending more time observing and he is trying to take photos with his dslr
