Comet question

Ok im no new comer on here but ive never tried to image a comet before.

Just couple of questions.........

Once im near perfect polar aligned do i track in any shape way or form? ie sidreal? or do i just locate the green comet and set it guiding on the comet?

No, you need to track in sidereal speed, and take short unguided exposures, about 30 seconds each…then stack, well this is what I did anyway…. I used the comet alignment tool in pixinsight, not sure what you do in other software…👍🏻

I'd taken my images before I realised perhaps there were methods to use the comet itself to guide on.

So it seems there are options to keep the comet steady and let the stars trail, but most post processing is for a standard guided session from what I've read.

Sidereal, make sure it's at the right speed.
