Pc screen share out in the field ?

Hello  , as i am planning to do my first session out in the field , i would like to ask something :

I have my setup controlled with a mini pc Intel NUC and i usually monitor the progress from my living room with a laptop....as you know all this is connected to my home wifi network....and by using Chrome Remote Desktop.

Now , if i am out in the field and i don't have internet how can i setup the Intel Nuc and my laptop ? is it possible to do a screen share from the mini pc to the laptop with using a LAN cable ? is there a software that can work without internet ?

I use VNC. 

VNC server on the imaging PC and VNCviewer on an old iPad.

Works for me but it does require access the VNC servers so I use my mobile phone as a WiFi hotspot.

So it's only a solution where ther is either wifi or a mobile network.

Some laptops support creating their own WiFi acces point. A Google might help you work out if you can do this and get the NUC to connect to the laptop that way. After that, VNC is a good suggestion as mentioned above.

If you use your phone as a hotspot you can connect the NUC and your laptop as you would at home.
