Started at 9pm with a look at the planets.

Jupiter was brilliant 4 moons 1 very close two bands clearly seen.

Saturn a great sight with Titan in view.

M52 A grand cluster multiple stars.

NGC 1027 Sparse with one bright star in the middle ( note to self find out what the star is)

NGC 189 small cluster 20-30 stars not very well resolved.

NGC 225 10-15 stars here.

NGC 659 40-50 stars with 44 Cass in the FOV

NGC 663 Nice cluster plenty of stars.

NGC 654 Really nice compact cluster.

NGC 7789 (Caroline's Rose) A great cluster with a bit of mag looks stunning

NGC 884 & 869 not strictly in Cassiopeia but its not far away.

NGC 457 one of my favourite's.

Doubles now

Iota Cass  (SAO 0122 98) A brilliant triple needs a bit of mag to see the tiny companion.

 Σ48 00h 42.6m  +71° 22`  Identical white twins

Σ65  (SAO 0114 40) Pair of twins again

Σ170  (SAO 90359 47)  Peach with a green/blue companion.

Sigma Cass (SAO 0359 47)  Yellow primary with a white companion

Eta Cass (SAO 0217 32) Yellow tiny dot as a companion.

ΟΣΣ 26 (02h19.7m +60° 02)  Wide pair nearly identical Blueish and pale orange.

h2028  (01h 16.6m  + 74° 02`)  nearly identical wide pair Yellow and white.

Looked at Jupiter again and noticed a moon missing it was only when I read Doug`s (cloudsweeper) report I understood what had happened.

Saturn and the seeing had steadied now and the scope was well cooled A bit more mag now I swear with averted vision I could see the Cassini division.

Waiting for Mars to get higher so looked at some favourites the double double in Lyra easily split with the 12mm BST

M57 ring nebula looked very good in the 15mm not so much in the 12mm and worse with both the UHC and oiii filters.

M13 magnificent the same with M92 smaller but equally very good.

Went in get a warm drink came out at 12.30am straight to Mars and what a show used the new to me 4mm x270 not dead sharp but sure I saw a ice cap.

Packed away with the help of my son was in at 1am.

Very nice report and good targets you got. I wonder if the moon was the culprit for the ring not taking much magnification.

Yes I do quite a few objects didn't like a lot of mag especially the clusters.
