Damaged EqDir cable

The other night the plastic tab snapped off my EQDir cable, now I’m wondering if I connect this to my HEQ5, will I be able to pull it out or will it be stuck in the mount socket?

To be honest, I'd crimp a new one on, if you know of a local network engineer, ask if they'd be so kind.... if you were closer, I'd offer to do it, but Haverfordwest is a tad for from Pontypridd, the next time I'm down to visit my mum...

Even if they're broken off enough that they still latch but you can't release them easily you can get them released by using a pin or something but you have to fiddle. If you're ham-fisted and have to do it in the dark well then maybe don't bother 🙂

All things being equal I probably wouldn't recommend for someone else.

There's more of a chance of it falling out rather than being stuck as it the tab that holds the mount in place, but I agree with the poster above, take the cable to any IT support company and ask them if they could re-terminate the cable with a new plug for a drink.  Shouldn't take a techie more than 30 seconds to cut and crimp a new one on
