New to astronomy. Bought an 8" Skywatcher 200p, but having second thoughts...

Same with any dob. Fwiw, I put adjustable furniture cabinet feet on mine. Helps with height, ground clearance and levelling should you wish to add setting circles.

Mine sits on the grass lawn on a waterproof picnic blanket with no problem, very stable. I don't use a stool, just sit on the ground right next to it  :)

Sounds like the best option! A lot of people on this forum seem to have a similar set up. Looking forward to hearing your verdict on how Heritage compares to the 8 inch as far as performance goes.
