I've been gathering data for this for what seems like months.. in the end, 10 hours Ha, 25 hours of Oiii and finally got to the point I could do something ok with the Squid.

So, here's the results. SY135mm and sometimes asi1600, sometimes asi2600.

That's a lovely wide field view.  Many congratulations on capturing the Squid - a very difficult target needing as you found lots of OIII.  Is your OIII filter particularly narrow banded?

Cheers,

Peter.

That OIII in the squid is so faint.  Well done for capturing it

thanks. yes, I've been trying for months and months to be honest with various cameras and focal lengths. I have work in progresses more cropped in to just sh2-129 too - but they are nowhere near ready yet - assuming I can be bothered continuing with it. It's quite depressing when you get another 10 hours and still can barely see the thing.. you sort of think the imaging time would have been better spent on another target.

Here for example is where I am with imaging it at 400mm. that is after 6 hours so far. 😠
