Bhatinov & Dew Sheild

Quick question. Will a Bhatinov Mask work when attached to the end of a Dew Sheild with Nexstar 6slt. Want to try some imaging but taking the Dew Sheild off then putting it back on usually knackers everything.

My SLT mount (SLT130 newtonian) was found to be way too light to take the OTA for imaging tho'.

I've always used the BM without a dew shield, on the basis I believe focus is unchanged when dew shield fitted.

Are you locking focuser enough?

I focus on anything I can see, do polar alignment - or if using ASiair, plate solve to get current orientation - add dew shield and redo balance and PA.

I used to put a bahtinov mask on the end of my 8 EdgeHD dew shield and it worked fine. I had 4 velcro strips sticking out which I attached to velcro on the dew shield.

(I use the past tense because I now auto-focus)
