This was my attempt at Jupiter under the nt so great conditions last night. I may have got some moments of ok seeing. Some banding is coming through. 8" Dob, manual, asi462mc, 2x barlow.

That looks very good, lots of detail. As you say, you must had have moments of good seeing!

Thanks. I think being also higher up helped as well.

I know what you mean when you mention not great conditions. It doesn't always mean there's not better moments.  Was the same for me last night generally bad. But moments of clarity coming through. Some good detail still being captured by you. Good colour balance

If it wasn't for the wind, the seeing was not bad, as if it was making the atmosphere quite turbulent (maybe what you said about cold and warm pockets of air mixing).
