One Galaxy or two sir?

For the first time in ages I managed to get out and image last night with the main goal being to run the equipment up to ensure that it was all still working. The following is my series of test shots centred on NGC 4889. This region of sky is populated my huge numbers of galaxies and, apparently dust bunnies too :)

Beautiful Steve - glad to see the equipment has survived its hibernation OK :)

There are a lot of them in there - have you run it through astrometry.net to get them all ID'd? I reckon that shot would be well worth it!

You can tell its Galaxy season out there, can't you :)

Cheers,

Richie

Steve + all - I've added this image to my Flickr site and tagged it for Astrometry solving - hopefully we should see some results in about an hour....

You can view here: 20130d1237467551-one-galaxy-two-sir-ngc4889_180309 on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Once its been solved, the Astrometry data will appear as a comment under the image.

It took a bit longer than usual for the Astrometry.net server to solve the image (i think it was down for a couple of days), but the image has been solved. Heres the details - click on the Flickr link to see the image overlay with each target identified.
