This is literally an example of lighting regulations being used....this is what lighting law in action looks like.

Anyone who can't navigate that stretch of water becuase of light glinting off windows doesnt deserve to be called a sailor!!!!

I guess its an legal reason as just saying its the most horrendous abomination of a design that is totally out of keeping with the area doesnt always wash with planners!

I didn't really have you down as a Daily Mail reader. 

I think that Sailors and Astronomers are fellow travelers in many ways. I enjoy both activities and there are quite a number of things which transfer from one hobby to another. Being freezing cold for example.
