DSLR + plate solving

Good evening everyone

Just like ask a question

I was trying to use my DSLR canon 1100D with my 8' scope , I tried to use to plate solve the image in APT , plate solving timed out on the image,   plate solving  works on my ccd camera in APT without any problem at all  

as anyone got any idea's  , am puzzled as to why !!

Do you have to input the focal length?

oh sorry yes i did , focal length  of the scope , the size of the sensor size  of the camera

What file type is the DSLR saving images as?

What program are you using in APT for solving  I use ASTAP if you are using Astap you only need short exposure of about 4 sec .

You might need to change the star size settings in PS2. Have you configured ASPS as well with the required indexes based on the different sensor sizes?

oh dear, I forgotten  about that, changing the star size in PS2 & the sensor size too ( am a clown  )

plus am using all sky plate solver  in APT would that make a difference not using ASPS , I will do that tonight when I come home from work, and try again next time it clear
