I was observing Mare Serenitatis last night and came across six tiny craters in a straight line. Apon consulting my Lunar maps I saw them but they are un named. Just wondering if anyone knows their names( if any) as this is an eye catching feature. ThanksScreenshot_2021-08-15-13-16-53-26.thumb.png.6ad6225bd93bc7015e73c366b6bbe62b.png

They are named after Linne, the carter in the bright area in the lower left in your photo. Going from top to bottom they are Linne G,H,F, B,A and the last one in the line is unnamed. The crater on the lower right s Linne D. They are all 4-5 km in size and  larger than Linne itself.

Linne itself is named after the botanist Carl Linnaeus:

Thank you Nik271, excellent, that is exactly the information I was looking for. Couldn't find that info anywhere online. Thanks again!

Although you do need the name of the crater or feature from an atlas or map first it’s then so easy to be able to look it up in one of the books. 👍🏻

Or if you want a challenge find a crater or feature in the books and then try to find it on the moon. 🙂
