CedricTheBrave
OK so I purchased my first refractor the Star Wave 80ED TR as a grab and go for camping holidays etc arrived today looks really well made quite impressed with its solidity and the smooth focus tube etc and the nice case now I did expect to stick my 17.5mm morpheus eye piece in and focus reasonably quickly on the moon tonight but no! i can get focus if I hold the eyepiece about 3 inches out of the draw tube when its extended fully! is that right? do I need an extension tube that big? Louis D
Maybe you're partially Japanese. They tend to prefer straight through viewing of planets since any diagonal adds some scatter, decreasing contrast.
