Lunar mosaic 16th June SW Capricorn 70mm Refractor F12.8

Taken in daylight before the sun was set. Was pouring water all over the patio to cool it, after baking in the sun all day.

Wanted to try my 245mm Newtonian. But not under these conditions. So the little scope gets some use. The EQ5 eats it up, i can actually focus and see it. Though still a tiny wobble. The virtues of long focus refractors comes out in leaps and bounds with this model. Small it might be, but its also sharp and contrasty. Not bad for £30 from astroboot.  QHY462C UV IR CUT

That's really good Neil. I've never considered  imaging before sunset but its obviously worth doing if you can get results like this. I tried the day before when the moon was getting low in the West after sunset and the seeing was rubbish. I think you've got your £30 back with one shot ! Trevor

Hey thanks for that Trevor.  You know when a scopes a keeper. I knew i hadnt got the best of it yet. But was quite pleased how this came out.

Its a shame SW didnt do larger F13 frac. Although Bresser do a 100mm  F13 i was looking at.

Good prices

Looks great!  I like the more black version myself....  and was processing pretty much the same phase at the same time I think.  LOL  Shot daylight on 15th....  and twilight on the 16th.   15th was better I think.

EDIT....  :   70mm???? !!    Crazy great results Neil!  Awesome really.   :)))))))))))

Cheers!

Thanks Mike. I know the resolution is limited. But i still enjoy using it. Especially times i know the larger scopes may struggle with conditions.
