Crab nebula

Well, thought I'd go for it and post my first piccy after getting the filter wheel setup working. It's taken with an LX90 OTA @f6.3 and an SX MX716 camera.

I planned to use the Red filter for luminance (18*3min) and R,G,B (6*3min each) but ended up stacking the whole lot together for luminance, seemed to look better that way.

That's a real "Wow" image! It has a very natural feel to it, and actually LOOKS like the remnants of an exploded star! It's easy to make M1 look very odd with those bright lines and patches it has, but you have done a great job on this one. One of the nicest I have seen so far!

Thanks for the kind words. It was guided with a 200mm telephoto lens and a 2x teleconverter as I don't have a second scope, so I'm pretty pleased with result!
