M51 Firstlight with 1000D

I wanted ideally to shoot a good HA target to get a grasp of what the modified 1000D will do but unfortunately the moon spoiled the party so had to image well away. Decided on M51 as I have not imaged this since last season.

Quite pleased with the result considering the very bright moon washed skies.

And a crop & zoom, the modified 1000D has picked up the HA star forming regions of M51 nicely.

Nice capture George , the full moon last night certainly restricted targets, great outing for the 1000D, nice tight stars. What were the exposure details ?.

Nice one George, I like M51 in widefield there is so much going on. The mod looks good with plenty of Ha regions in there.
