Recommendations on ZWO 'flat/ribbon-style' cable replacements

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I wondered if anyone had any good recommendations for replacements of the ZWO supplied flat USB cables - specifically the USB 2.0 cable for the 120MM mini and the USB 3.0 for the 533MC Pro. I assume these cables are similar/the same used in other models but have stated my cameras incase they are unique to each camera.

Nothing wrong as such with the cables - for reasons I cannot explain I just have a bit of a 'thing' against the flat/ribbon-style ones.

I really cannot recommend the Lindy Cromo range enough.
They are available in lots of lengths so you do not have loads of cable to tidy up and they are very reliable and a reasonable price.

LINDY 36640 USB 2.0 Type A to B Cable, Cromo Line

LINDY 36663 USB 3.0 Type A to B Cable

I do not think they do a  type C in the Cromo line but they do in the black line line you may only need a 0.5 M one if going from Mini to the USB hub on the 533MC thats what I used and makes a really neat setup with no extra cable to lose.

USB 3.1 Type A to C Cable

But to be honest I never had any issues with the ZWO flat cables.

I bought one of these (in white) for my ASI533. It's a USB-C connector so I did not have to use an adapter between my laptop and original cable. I have light coloured cables to make them easier to see in the dark and avoid accidents!
