1st lunar

I upgraded yesterday to a  used Orion skyquest xt8 from a 114 x 900 Galileo. So was out playing and took these pictures freehand with my cellphone. I ordered a cellphone lens holder.  My dream and goal is after I get really comfortable with my scope I am going to try and located every feature on the surface of the moon.

That's a very good result for a handheld cellphone - when ever I've tried that approach the results have been a disaster!

Very good, handheld isn't easy especially when you use higher power EP's.

I got lucky. I am surprised I could hold still as excited as I was about how amazing the images in the eyepiece are. Huge difference between my 114 x 900 Galileo and the xt8.
