Getting tomorrow

Recommended Posts

Wednesday afternoon I am going to go and upgrade myself with a new, bigger and better telescope. Found a hardly used Orion skyquest xt8. Many extras including 2X Barlow lens, p l o s s l 12.5 m m, p l o s s l 25 mm, University Optics UW 80-degree 16 mm fully multi-coated, University Optics 7 mm multi-coated,. .5x focal reducer, polarizing Moon filter, lens pens, red LED light, and locking hard case. I have been kinda searching and tossing between buying new or finding a good used. I found this and price is beautiful.  I can not wait. I am like a kid in a candy store with excitement.

My grandson is really loving seeing the moon and saturn through the 114 by 900 Galileo. He will really be pleased this coming weekend when pappy gets out the new baby.

I know over then next couple months I want t ok get a few things for the scope. A Telrad, I'm thinking of a 2 inch 32mm eyepiece for a wide view  of the sky. I do want to get filters but not sure which direction or what. Thanks everyone for all the information and post.

WOW. What a sky opener. Got the XT8 home and had a couple minutes to play. Jupiter and Saturn have never looked so good to my eyes.  Sorry for picture. Was taken holding cell to lens.
