Well as a glider pilot I take forecasts with a mountain of salt but the long range (two week) prospect for clear skies looks grim... rain cloud and more rain.

Now is that better than Clear skies with FOG???

I'm really considering giving this hobby up due to this bl***y weather. Been 7 weeks since I last observed.

Yes - too many of my other hobbies require good weather. Think I'll take up knitting.

If there are rain clouds about look out for Moonbows - a rainbow created by the Moon or with fog - a Glory. This is a circle of light around your shadow falling on the fog.

But Doc, where were you over xmas? Surely you had at least a few hours of clear skies?

My hobbies are Astronomy, Microlighting and Cycle touring.

All a bit weather dependant...will i never learn!!

Lets hope this year will show a marked improvment.

TJ had family around alot over xmas but even then had a look and it was either cloudy, foggy or rainy.
