Recent Jupiter and Saturn

Here is an IR-colour image of Saturn and an colour image of Jupiter with th eGRS rising. 

Reasonable seeing conditions for the UK at 18 degs.

Hi Peter,

Do I read that right that you are using a colour camera for 20 minutes of capture and de-rotating ? When you de-rotate do you do it by chunks of say , a minute ? What is your process there ?

Hi Mike,

I take 8 x 2 min videos over a 20 min period. Process each one through Autostakkert and Registax to sort, stack and sharpen them.

I then use WinJUPOS to measure each of the best images from the data set above and then derotate them.

Then I take the derotated image which is smoother andbetter signal/noise because it is a combo of 10 images and process in Photoshop

Bit of a long winded routine.
