SGOPR Autofocus - killing auto focus.... we are lost

Nope never seen that - are you running the very latest version?? I found the focus routine in v3.x.x much better than previous versions.

Tempted to go back a couple as it did work a couple of year ago

actually, having said that - need to check if I had the focus cube, sure i did

The starting point of the routine is far off from focus, therefore when the routine starts, it moves the focuser even further away, and so is unable to ever achieve focus. 

I find the best way is to use a live view & manually adjust for best focus, then the SGPro routine will work ok.

I used a bahtinov first then repeated 10s images manually focussing to bring the overall FWHM down

Possibly i didn't bring it low far enough
