The almighty 102/500 and flame

Recommended Posts

Just for fun really. I was trying to demonstrate to a friend that his 102/500 isn't completely worthless for imaging.

299x60sec, unguided, / 30 darks / 30 flats. SW 102/500 on Heq5, Canon 500d modified, baader 7nm Ha, from Athens Greece, bortle 8-9_299_R.thumb.jpg.ffc7a4fad348fd99f0a08b7061723c56.jpg

That's why I've underlined the filter in my first post. I have to give 90% credit for this image  to the narrowband filter. The other 10% goes to the modified camera!

It seems like I've started a fire. My friend with the st102 just finished a 14hour take on NGC7000. All done with 60sec exposures, unguided from the center of Athens, with Heq5, Canon 500d, baader Ha 7nm. I've just helped with the stacking and explained some basic processing.
