Very poor seeing today but I caught some so-so shots of the proms with a Ha PST and DMK21

Well they look damn fine to me. Is that the cromosphere you've picked up on the limb or just a chromatic aberration?

Thanks, I think its just glare from where I had to up the exposure. All the proms were pretty faint today. Andy

Great pictures Andy. Perhaps you can advise. I have the same kit but cannot get the DMK in the correct position to focus. Are ou using an adapter or barlow ? The only thing I can get to focus is a neade LPI but the DMK won't have it . Any ideas , Regards , Trevor

A couple of things. Does the DMK have the 1.25" nosepiece WITHOUT a shoulder? I found I had to change to this type to allow it to sit further in ( Infact the knurled ring on the body now goes into the focuser)

You can also try a x2 barlow. I use the Klee x2.2 and x2.8; there's plenty of detail ( and resolution) at f22 (or f28).

I agree, I use the low profile nose for the DMK and it reaches focus ok without a barlow. The supplied nose won't allow enough inwards travel to focus. These were taken with a Cemax barlow, there are some shots without a barlow on my blog. The magnimax also works with the DMK.
