M42, 15 mins, 200mm Lens, ZWO 178MC, AZGTi

Managed to hook up and old 200mm film lens to my 178MC with an adaptor I 3d printed.

Stuck it on my AZgti and grabbed 15mins of 15 second exposures at 400 gain (I think)

Wasn't sure if this should be in here or the EEVA area so apologies if its in the wrong place.

Its not amazing I know, but for 15mins on an AltAz mount, I am fairly satisfied.

Thanks for looking

A lot of image for such short data.

Was the mount in az or eq mode and how did you process the image. Was it stacked files or sharpcap capture?

The mount was in AltAz mode. And the image was livestacked. I processed the image in Startools, such as my processing skills are. Lol.

A good effort, not seen star flares like the brighter ones before.

I think they are created by the aperture blades in the lens. I stopped it down to f5.6 I think. Not sure if they would be minimised by stopping down further or not.

Personally I've always liked them. As I do diffraction spies where people have used Reflectors for imaging.
