RS232 computer to RS232 NEQ6 mount

Recommended Posts

As the title suggests, does a direct RS232 to RS232 cable work in this situation, this is not USB to RS232, I have read that bit up, but finding it unclear as to RS232 to RS232 needs anything in-between as RS232 cables I can get cheaper, the cable will be run from the computer system in the shed to the scopes final resting place (eventually).

e.g. 5m £6

I think you might just need to be sure that it is a Null Modem or Null Modem with Handshake cable.

But, wait for someone else to confirm, pretty sure a straight through cable won't work.

the supplied serial data cable to the handset and send commands through that.

I take it this is the usb D port on the controller, I don't think it came with a cable for that, the manual only has two ports on the controller, my controller has three, one to mount RJ-45 a six pin presume RJ-12 and a USB D, so I can connect using a USB to USB D cable using that port.

Sorry, got the above, I have been using for years, just never applied it beyond casual use before.

I know of eos backyard, what other sort of software does similar image capture, if I may ask.

I am getting there, only got the new mount two weeks ago.
