Focuser upgrade

Hi All I just got CraigT82 focuser to replace my OC1 on my Orion Optics VX8L does any one know if I will still need extensions to focus it ? And what's the chance of it fitting in the OC1 bolt holes ?

Hi Neil, 

If you measure the highest your current focuser will go (from OTA to top of drawtube) I will measure this one and see if it will go any higher.

The holes probably wont fit maybe u can get 2,  if they all fit great but maybe not.

then just drill out couple holes small black bolts and nuts

If the focuser has enough travel u may not need an extension at all

Focusers can have 2, 3 4 even 5 inches of travel. Install it first and try it
