A Happy Dog...

Out with the 15x70's to chase down the Davis's Dog asterism between the racing clouds.  First time seeing this one and its a lovely view in the bino 4° fov.   Why does finding a random pattern of stars make me grin from ear to ear 😀.

Besides Canis maior, the most distinctive of the five celestial dogs (C. maior, C. minor, C. venatici).. Always nice to spot it as a winter harbinger between Pleiades and Hyades - once you have seen it, you cannot make it "unseen" any longer. Easy to find with any type of binoculars.
