Yes, in Siberia very dark skyes. But many our cities is very light (illuminated). If leave the city, then reveal amazing and beautiful night sky! Very clearly visible Milky Way, very many more stars adn constellations! In winter: Orion (my favorite), Ursa Minor, Ursa Major and many many more. It`s very beautiful!

And you right. In Novosibirsk make TAL Telescopes. Novosibirsk Instrumental Plant (where make TAL Telescopes) was sponsor of Total Solar Eclipse in 1 August 2008 in Novosibirsk.
