Rosette Nebula- ASI294MC and STC Duo

Well, I thought my last time out imaging was a complete failure. Oh how wrong was I, thought I'd have a look at my data and there were a few salvageable frames. I'm blown away with what I got out of this in just 19 minutes exposure time. I've included 2 versions,. Which do you think looks best? Imagine it with a few hours worth

Altair GPCAM3 290m (guide camera)

Software- APT, APP, Pixinsight

3x 300s

2x 120s

That's quite good (I largely prefer the second one). Is expectedly easier with 300s subs rather than 30s :)

Tricky. The top one shows more nebulosity, while the bottom one shows the dust lanes better.

Excellent result for 19 minutes.  You are dead right to be pleased.

I like both versions, but if I had to pick one, then I would go for the second one.

19 minutes?!  Tough to pick between them, but second one just shades it for me for the additional contrast and (perceived) sharpness.  Nice one 🙂

Yeah mate. I lost about an hour's worth more due to crap guiding. Rescued 3 x 300s and 2x 120s. Cheers.
