Dark sky’s

Wanting to have ago at some Astro pics with my DSLR , just looking for some better dark sky sites near me (chester):):):) ooo also any thoughts on my cannon 1100D ,would this camera be ok to start off with ,,,thank youuuu 👍👍👍

I'm a Suv 😅 so don't know Chester but try a dark sky app on your phone ... Screenshot of your area attached

Plenty of dark sites down the road across  the border. The further west the better. Are you hoping for Milky Way nightscapes, widefield, DSO etc?

as for the camera, we all got to start somewhere and the 1100d is good enough    . It can be an expensive hobby thou

Give it a go from your current location. I’m in Sheffield and can get passable results - certainly good enough to make the effort worth it. 
 

Plus it’s a good idea to have a couple of goes at it at home as it rarely goes smoothly at first and it helps to have somewhere warm to decamp to whilst you troubleshoot it all.
