Baader Neutral Density filters

This is such a good idea!

The standard Moon filter has a density of about 0.9 and is best suited for six-eight inch aperture telescopes, but what if you are using an 80mm refractor, or a twelve-inch light-bucket?

Baader offer a range of four Neutral Density filters (0.6, 0.9, 1,8 and 3.0).

They are also genuinely neutral (reduce brightness without affecting colour) are multicoated and planoptically polished.

Perfect for reducing the glare of the Moon and planets.

NB: These are not suitable for observing the Sun!

Hi Steve,

I was looking at these and wondered how they would work over the range of moon brightness and different planets. Would a varible polarizer be better and do you have any plans for stocking those if they are good.

I've a 10in dob.

Hi Steve,

Which of the 4 filters would best suit a 127mm ED APO Triplet?, or are there better filters to be had?

Also, do they come in 2" as well as 1.25" ?

Filters seem to be a bit of a mine field when it comes to a newby like myself.

Regards, "Totalamateur" Ray
